C. If you get into Hathi Trust Digital Library, Hathi Trust is a digital repository for the nation’s great research libraries; HathiTrust (listen to the pronuciation) brings together the immense collections of partner institutions. HathiTrust was conceived as a collaboration of the thirteen universities of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation and the University of California system to establish a repository for these universities to archive and share their digitized collections. Partnership is open to all who share this grand vision. If you get into Hathi Trust you will see:

  • Catalog Search - search bibliographic data such as title, author, ISBN, etc, for all items in the Library. Full-text search of all items in the Library is not yet available, but full-text searching options are available via the Experimental Search page or from within a public or private collection.

  • Experimental Search - Search individual words, groups of words, or phrases in quotes (e.g., "George Washington")

  • Public Collections - to browse other people's collections. Items from these collections can be copied into your own personal collection.

  • Create your own Private Collection - by searching or browsing to find items of interest and then adding them to a collection.

The main point is when you get into an EBook look at all your options. Sometimes you can mark citations, email parts of the book to you, copy a chapter if the chapter is a PDF file, etc. You will want to explore all your options. These are just three of the online sources of EBooks, if you Google eBooks you will come up with quite a few free sources.
